Please read the Terms and Conditions. If you apply for the bursary, we will assume
that you have read these terms and conditions and that you agree to them.
Definitions:
QAS Aviation Academy; herein referred to as "QAS"
Qhumisa Research Consulting and ICT Solutions; herein referred to as "Qhumisa"
SA Sky100 Cabin Crew Training Bursary; herein referred to as "bursary"
The bursary awards are based on the final decision of the Directors of QAS Aviation
Academy and Qhumisa.
Application:
- These terms and conditions are binding to any person who applies for the bursary
Disqualified participants are:
- All people medically, physically or mentally unfit to operate on an aircraft.
- All people under the age of 18 years or over the age of 25 years.
- All people who are not in possession of a South African Identity Document or a legal
residency permit in South Africa.
- All people who do not comply with the selection profile; herein referred to as "Appendix
A"
Entry:
- The bursary is organised by QAS and Qhumisa and is open to residents of the Republic
of South Africa who comply with selection profile.
- The terms and conditions apply to all QAS and Qhumisa bursary programmes conducted
on or off air and by means of any medium which includes but not limited to radio,
television, print, telephone or computer.
- QAS and Qhumisa may change or modify all or any part of these terms and conditions
without prior notice.
- Applications for the bursary are deemed to be acceptance of the terms and conditions
and that the applicant has the necessary qualifications and meets the required profile
to apply for the bursary.
- QAS and Qhumisa reserve the right to exclude any person from participating in the
bursary application on reasonable grounds. Such reasonable grounds are at the sole
discretion of the Directors of QAS and Qhumisa.
- QAS and Qhumisa reserves the right to refuse the bursary award to any applicant who
QAS and Qhumisa decides, in their sole discretion has violated the terms and conditions,
gained unfair advantage or won by using fraudulent means.
- Only one application per family will be considered for the bursary.
- By applying, applicants grant QAS and Qhumisa exclusive permission to use their names,
characters, photographs, voices and likeness in connection with the bursary award
and for future bursary and marketing purposes and waive any claim to royalty, right
or remuneration for such use.
- Where communication has been made through the Interactive Voice recording number,
the telephone number from which the applicant has called will be stored in a database.
The applicant has a two -day period from the time of application to request in writing
the removal from the database. If no request is made it is deemed acceptance that
the information can be used at the discretion of QAS and Qhumisa.
- It is to be noted that calls made to the Interactive Voice recording number are charged
at VAS rates and free minutes do not apply.
- All bursary enquires must be done in writing and be directed to bursary@sky100.co.za
or PO BOX 13371, Northmead, 1511. No telephonic enquiries will be entered into.
Winning the bursary:
- The bursary awards are based on the final decision of the Directors of QAS and Qhumisa.
- The winner/s will be determined in the manner set out in the bursary terms and conditions
- if not specified then as determined by QAS and Qhumisa Directors who shall for
this purpose be deemed the Judges.
- The Judge's determination of the winner/s will be final and no correspondence will
be entered into.
- The winner/s will be notified by one of the following methods; email, phone (voice
or text) or mail and must be available for the preparation of all publicity that
may be required by QAS and Qhumisa. Where attempts to contact the winner/s exceed
3 (three) attempts, the Judges will select another winner/s. (Note: 3 (three) attempts
to contact will include individual calls to any number provided at the time of application,
email addresses or postal addresses provided at the time of application)
- The bursary award is not redeemable for cash or transferable.
- No other family members, friends or any other person will be able to participate
on the winner/s behalf.
- The winner/s take the bursary award entirely at his/her own risk and indemnifies
QAS and Qhumisa in respect of any claim for any accident, injury, property or personal
damage or loss that may occur in connection with the bursary.
- The winner/s is responsible for all other costs not included in the bursary award.
- By application and winning of the bursary, it is clearly stated that the applicant
will be subjected to a Police Clearance by the South African Polices Services.
QAS Aviation Academy and Qhumisa Responsibilities:
- QAS and Qhumisa reserve the right to amend, vary, extend or discontinue the bursary
at any stage, for any reason.
- QAS and Qhumisa takes no responsibility for any inability to apply due to equipment
or technical malfunction, busy lines, inadvertent disconnection, Acts of God or otherwise.
- To the fullest extent permitted by law, QAS and Qhumisa will not be liable for any
loss or damage whatsoever (including but not limited to direct or consequential loss)
or for personal injury as a result of the bursary.
Acceptance:
- Participation/application for the bursary is deemed acceptance of these Terms and
Conditions and the applicant agrees to be bound by these Terms and Conditions.
APPENDIX A
Selection profile; applicants must comply with the following criteria and be:
- Between the ages of 18 and 25 years
- A South African Citizen or in possession of permanent residence
- Matriculated
- Fluent in English
- Medically and Physically fit
- Between 1,56m and 1,8m tall
- Weight in proportion to height
- Good eyesight
- Willing to swim
- Well groomed
